I have always loved Gestalt Theory, introduced by psychologist Kurt Koffka. The theory states that “the whole is other than the sum of the parts.”
The human eye and brain perceive a unified shape in a different way than how they perceive the individual parts of those shapes. I keep this in mind when designing presentations. How can I make all of these small elements work together to create a unified final piece?

The Bauhaus
The Bauhaus was a school in Germany that also turned into an art movement in the 1930’s. Notable artists and architects like Walter Gropius and Herbert Bayer came together to practice their belief that all forms of art should be unified, and form should follow function. Bauhaus style heavily influenced art and architecture, and is still recognizable today.
